I am celebrating my 10th year as
Principal here at Wilkerson! My wife Marilyn and I have been married for
18 years and we have two daughters. My oldest is a freshman in high
school and my youngest daughter enters 7th grade. I graduated
from Pennsylvania State University in1989. While there, I earned a degree
in Health education and I earned my masters’ degree from University of
Detroit/ Mercy . I spent one year (1989) playing professional football
with the Detroit Lions but that has become a distant memory I spend most
of my time car pooling to ice hockey, volleyball, basketball, soccer,
baseball and Polish Dance but I enjoy every minute of it. I enjoy reading
historical fiction novels, hunting, watching Penn State Football ,
spending time at our cottage near Alpena MI, and being a DAD. |

Lindsay Arnold-Kindergarten Teacher.
This is my ninth year teaching Kindergarten here at Wilkerson. I earned
my Bachelor's Degree from Western Michigan University and my Master's from
Saginaw Valley. My husband Fred and I have been married for seven years.
We have one son Harrison who is four years old and our daughter Carys will
be one this September.

Hello, my name is Brandon Briguglio.
This is my first year at Wilkerson Elementary. I will be teaching fourth
grade. I have been teaching eight years in the Warren Con. School
District. I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Oakland University and
a Master of Science degree from Walden University. During my spare time I
enjoy spending time with my beautiful wife and making plans for our first
family addition, who should be arriving in late spring. My hobbies
include, but are not limited to, photography and exercising. I am excited
to be part of such a wonderful school community.

This is my first year officially teaching at Wilkerson. I am excited
to be teaching second grade and to be a part of the Wilkerson family. I
graduated from Oakland University and am currently taking master classes
in Reading and Literacy from Walden University. In my free time, I enjoy
reading, spending time with my family and friends and taking care of my
puppy Harley. |

am very excited to be teaching kindergarten for the 5th year at
Wilkerson. I feel very fortunate to be part of the Wilkerson family. I
earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Western Michigan
and my Master's Degree from Saginaw Valley State. I married my husband,
Ed, in August 2005 and our son, Jackson, was born in December 2006. When
I am not at Wilkerson, I love spending time with my family and playing

and Language from Eastern Michigan University and later graduated from
Wayne State University with a Master's degree in Library and Information
Science. I have been married for 16 years and have two sons, ages 14 and

 | Shellley Haddad-Fourth Grade Teacher. I am
fortunate enough to say that this is my fifth year teaching at Wilkerson.
I graduated from Wayne State University. After getting my job, I enrolled
at Saginaw Valley State University and completed my Master's Degree in
Educational Leadership with a concentration on Principalship. I have been
married to my amazing husband, Kelain, for 4 years . We have two
beautiful daughters, Kailey, who is two years old, and Olivia, who is 8
months old. They are the light of our lives! All of our time is centered
around the girls and doing family activities. |

I am entering my fourth year in Warren Consolidated Schools, and my first
year at Wilkerson. I am quickly finding out what a great school it is! I
graduated from Wayne State University with a bachelor's degree in
Elementary Education with a major in math. Currently I am working on my
master's degree at Oakland University in Reading and Language Arts. |

 | Karyn Kechechian- Art. I have always
enjoyed using creativity for my artistic endeavors. I have always felt
that art was an important role in my life and chose it to be a part of my
career. I obtained a degree in Art Education from Wayne State
University. My personal areas of interest are jewelry making and computer
graphics. I enjoy looking at a variety of art and artists. Some of them
are Monet, Van Gogh, and Matisse. |

Theresa Kutchey -Kindergarten Teacher- I am
so excited to be teaching Kindergarten again. I taught Kindergarten for
two years prior to coming to Wilkerson. I am happy to continue being a
part of the Wilkerson Family. This is the beginning of my second year
here. I have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Elementary Education and
I am pursuing a Masters in Early Childhood Education. I enjoy every

an Associate's Degree from Macomb Community College in Warren. I have a
daughter, Stephanie, who is 14 years old and attends Cousino High School.
I have been employed with Warren Consolidated Schools since 1996. I really
enjoy working at Wilkerson! My hobbies are movies and reading. I also have

have been with Warren Consolidated Schools as a preschool teacher
assistant for five years. I have been part of the Wilkerson family for
the past three years. My son, age 12 attends Beer Middle School and my
daughter, age 10, attends Angus. Besides helping to launch three and
four year olds into their school careers, I spend a lot of my free time
with my husband of 14 years, as well as enjoying watching my children
grow! |

I am proud and happy to be a part of the Wilkerson
Family. I have been with Warren Consolidated Schools for the past 15
years, and have been a preschool/nursery school teacher for the last five
years. Getting young children ready for their school careers has been a
joy. I enjoy spending my spare time with my husband of 25 years. Since my
children are college age adults, it is especially wonderful to spend my
days witnessing this wonderful age of discovery over and over again! |
 | Melissa Mulka- Third Grade Teacher.
This is my fifth year teaching at Wilkerson. In that time I have taught
kindergarten and second grade. I prepared for my teaching at Adrian
College where I earned my Bachelor of Arts (with a triple minor in
political science, earth science, and elementary education). In July of
2005, I married my best friend, Anthony. I earned my Masters in the Art of
Teaching from Marygrove College in May of 2006. In my spare time, I enjoy
walking at Dodge Park, reading, and spending time with my family and
friends. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to work with such a
fantastic staff and school family. |
 | Sandy Newell- Third Grade Teacher. I
started at Wilkerson in 1998. I graduated from Penn State University
and before moving to Michigan, taught in Pennsylvania and Virginia. I also
have a Master's Degree from Saginaw Valley State University. I
have been married for 16 years and have a seven-year-old son,
Christopher, and a five-year-old daughter, Riley. When I'm not
spending time with the kids, I like to read,
go bike riding, roller skate, do crafts, and watch the Pittsburgh Penguins. My husband and I also like
to sail on our boat, Adagio. |
 | Parvaneh Orow- ELL Tutor. My name
is Parvaneh Orow, I'm the Bilingual Aide here at Wilkerson and Carter
Middle School. Working with ELL kids is fun, sometimes I translate,
and at other times I help them with language comprehension. Most of
the time is spent explaining classwork individually and in groups of the
same level. I help with Language Arts, Math, and other subjects as
needed. I strongly emphasize reading and writing well and
mathematical problem solving. |
 | Val Puffer- Fifth Grade Teacher.
I started in the district as an elementary Spanish
teacher eight years ago. After teaching Spanish for four years I came to
Wilkerson as a classroom teacher. I attended Anderson University where I
earned my Bachelor degree and Wayne State University where I earned my
Masters Degree. My husband , Richard, and I recently celebrated our 20th
wedding anniversary and I have 12 year old twins. Some of my hobbies are
reading, scrapbooking, and traveling.

 | Lisa Pyrek- Fourth Grade Teacher. This
is my 14th year in Warren Consolidated. I began my career
teaching Elementary Spanish from 1997-2001. In the years that have
followed, I have taught fifth grade, 4/5 split, third grade, and fourth
grade at Black Elementary. I am happy to return to the Wilkerson
Community. I graduated from Wayne State with a Bachelor’s in Elementary
Education and a Master’s in Educational Psychology. My husband Dave and I
have been married 10 years. He is a music teacher for Clawson Public
Schools. I enjoy biking, hiking, walking, yoga, reading, and gardening. |

 | Melva Bentley Ross- Counselor.
This is my 10th year as an Elementary counselor in
Warren Consolidated School. I live with
my husband David, who recently retired from
DiamlerChrysler 19 months ago. We are the proud parents of two
young adults. Our son, Donovan Ross, is a Corporate Tax Accountant with
Kelly Services in Troy, Michigan. When he returned home from college,
he often referred to us as his roommates before moving to Royal Oak
,just a month ago. Our Daughter, Maria Ross Estrada, and her husband
Daniel live in Manassas, Virginia with my grandpets two Lop bunnies
Sundae and Franklin and a tortoise Apollo. She is a Veterinarian at
Ashburn Village Animal Hospital and her specialty is exotic animals. My
hobbies include ballroom , Maringá, and salsa dancing with my spouse. I
have been a member of a literary club for 15 years, which I enjoy very
much. My passion is travel and most recently we went to South Africa in
August 2008 to visit Cape Town, Johannesburg, Sun City and finally
Victoria Falls.

This is my 8th year teaching for the
Warren Consolidated School District and at Wilkerson Elementary. My love
of piano and singing began at an early age and is still a big part of who
I am. I graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Arts
in Piano Performance and earned a Master of Education degree from Walden
University. Beside my love of teaching music, I also enjoy boating,
taking walks and lounging in the sun. My husband David and I have been
married 10 years and have two kids. Abby is now 5 years old and Spencer
is 2 years old. |
 | Roxanne Scholz- Third Grade Teacher. I
am very happy to be teaching at Wilkerson. It is a great school in a
wonderful community. I have been married for 13 years and I have 2
children. My daughter is in 6th grade and my son is in 3rd grade. My
husband is a Police Officer in Warren and works at Cousino H.S. I
graduated from Wayne State University and I am currently seeking my
Masters. My hobbies are scrapbooking, bowling, and shopping.

This is my second year teaching in Warren
Consolidated Schools and my first year teaching at Wilkerson. I am very
excited to be part of the Wilkerson staff. I earned my Bachelor of Science
in Education Degree from Western Michigan University, and will begin my
Master’s Degree from Saginaw Valley State University this winter. When I
am not working I enjoy spending my free time with my family and friends.

Helen Silverstein- Second Grade
Teacher. I have had many years of teaching experience in each
grade from K-9. My undergraduate degree is from U of Detroit, my Masters
degree from Oakland University: Teaching Reading in Early Elementary. I
am also Orton-Gillingham certified. I am fluent in Hungarian and have
some background in French. My family includes my husband, Shel, a
psychologist/Educator, our children, Deena, Howard, Andrea, Stefani, and our cat, Tzi-Tza.
Our home is a lively place! I enjoy working with children,
reading, playing Bridge, needlework, classical music, white tulips, the
beach, and doing anything with my family.

Teacher. This is my third year teaching first grade and I am so
happy to be in such a wonderful school. I am a WCS alumni and I
think it is the best place to be! I graduated from Eastern Michigan
University in December 2005 and I am currently working on my Master's
degree from Walden University. Lat Christmas my husband and I welcomed our
first son, Landen into our lives. In my spare time I like to play
with my Yorkie named Wrigley and I take photography classes when I can. |
 | Eric Williamson- Fourth Grade
Teacher. This is my first year
teaching 4th grade at Wilkerson Elementary. I am thrilled to be a part of
a great community. I taught middle school science and language arts the
last six years at a private school in Birmingham. I earned my Bachelor's
degree from Madonna University, and played baseball there for four years
as well. I also have my received my Master's degree from Concordia
University with a focus in Educational Leadership. I live in Clarkston
with my wife who is also a teacher in Fenton. We have two boys: Camden - 4
yrs old and Nolan - 2 yrs old. I enjoy coaching baseball and playing
softball, and also being active outdoors with my wife and children.
