September We kick off first grade with Norman Birdwell. November December and January Jan Brett's extraordinary illustrations bring stories to life. Whether it's a classic story retold like The Gingerbread Man or The Night Before Christmas, or an original such as Berlioz the Bear or Comet's Nine Lives, the borders provide a tale in themselves. February For 60 years, H.A. and Margaret Rey have been keeping us entertained by Curious George and his friend in the yellow hat. March Creative rhymes, interesting characters, and silly drawings entertain and educate children of all ages. Beginning and advanced readers enjoy the rhythmic world of Dr. Seuss April Mercer Mayer's Little Critter tries to help out and do his best, but his good intentions sometimes don't work out the way he plans.
