Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians:

Welcome to the new school year at Grissom Middle School!!! I look forward to being your teacher. In order to establish a good working environment, the following contract was created to ensure a productive, successful, and enjoyable school year for everyone.

EVERYONE IN CLASS MUST FOLLOW THESE RULES:

1. Be in your assigned seat and ready to work when the bell rings.
2. Be prepared with pencil, pens, books, notebooks, assignments, and agenda.
3. Respect everyone in the classroom and their belongings.
4. Listen to directions the first time they are given.
5. Work and play in a safe manner.

CONSEQUENCES FOR BREAKING RULES:

• First Violation: Verbal warning.
• Second Violation: Conference with student after class.
• Third Violation: Call home and detention.
• Fourth Violation: Referral to the office.

REWARDS FOR FOLLOWING RULES:

• Praise (daily)
• Positive notes (when possible)
• Positive phone calls home (random)
• A free and valuable education!!! (daily)
• Reward Chart: When good behavior is observed, students will be asked to put star stickers on the reward chart. When 20 stars are accumulated, students will earn a free educational game day.
