The students continue to work hard on mastering their skills. This weeks Bellwork/classwork was collected today. 7th grade worked on customary conversions. 2nd hour continued to work on division of fractions. All other 6th graders worked on rounding and fraction estimation. As you look in parent portal for the assessment results. Please make note that students are required to do practice work for any section they have not shown mastery of 80% or greater. You may see these results change as students practice and take the assessment again. Have a great weekend!! : )

The grade is averaged based on practicing and proficiency of CCS (see below):
Class work: 10% (Bell work or in class practice)
Homework: 15% (practice work is assigned/collected until mastery is demonstrated on lesson assessment)
Lesson assessments: 15% (identified in grade book by a section). Each student is required to do practice work until they show mastery at 80%).
Quizzes: 20% (covers 2- 4 sections from a chapter) 4-6 given per card marking
Tests: 40% (covers material over an entire chapter) 2-3 given per card marking
Common Core Standards (CCS): Ratios/proportions, The Number System, Expressions/equations, Geometry, and Statistics/probability

TEXTBOOKS
Students were issued math books at registration. They will need to bring them to class daily. Please be mindful of the following:
· Take good care of your book
· Return book with barcode intact and free of defacement or destruction
· Cover your textbook when possible
· Immediately notify your teacher, the office, or Mr. Murphy if you notice your barcode label damaged unidentifiable, or accidentally removed
· If your textbook is returned at the end of the course without the barcode label, you may be fined up to the full replacement of the text (discretion of Mr. Murphy)
