Speaker - Matt Busch
Former Grissom student Matt Busch visited with all students on Friday
morning, March 26th. He shared his story of becoming an artist.
He has done work on DVD covers, movie posters, and worked with George
Lucas Films on Star Wars posters and drawings. He gave away prints
and DVD's of his work and gave an inspirational talk about the
importance of thinking about your future. See some pics from the

A’S & HONOR ROLL CELEBRATION
On Friday, April 23rd, we gathered
for ice cream in the cafeteria to celebrate and
acknowledge the academic accomplishments of our
students. Mr. Murphy and Mrs. Figurski addressed the students and
commended them on their efforts, encouraging them to
“keep up the good work”! This event is sponsored
by the Grissom Booster Club.
Veteran's Day Breakfast
On November 11, 2009, the Grissom Community celebrated
Veteran's Day with a breakfast at the school honoring some
local heroes. Student speeches were given by Toni
Valenzuela, Brittany Skeel, Lucky Chowdhury, Denisia Ivan,
and Ruthanne Yelland. Sterling Heights High School
Principal and former Marine, Dr. Robert Shaner, addressed
the
gathered students and their veteran guests. The
8th grade Grissom band performed for the gathering and Taps
was played by Grissom student Robert Calimente. Thank
you goes out to Mr. and Mrs. Ochss for helping to organize,
set up, and clean up this very special event. Thank
you Veterans for your tremendous sacrifice... we will never
forget that the freedoms we enjoy are because of you.
