At Fillmore we are concerned for our students' safety.  Therefore, students are not to be at school before 8:35am because there is no supervision for them.  Students arriving too early will have to be placed in LatchKey and a bill will be sent to the parent.

Parents, Volunteers, and Visitors ... PLEASE SIGN IN

All parents, visitors, and volunteers are to register in the Office and wear a Visitor badge while at Fillmore.  PLEASE, DO NOT GO RIGHT TO THE CLASSROOM.  Say "Good by" to your child at the building doorway and let them go to class alone.  This is a safe guard for our students and teaches your child to have independence.  Unidentified persons will be politely asked by our Staff to register in the Office before proceeding into the classroom.  Please help us protect your children.

Student Absence

You can call the Fillmore Absence Line at  586-825-2860 and select option #2  from 4:30 pm to 9:00 am to report your child's absence.

Please state the following information:

Your child's first and last name, and spell the last name,

The teacher's name,

The reason for the absence, and

Your name (calls are to be made by an adult).

School Security

Parents picking up their children during school must come and sign their child out in the office.

Parents picking up their children after school are asked to meet students outside of the school at their EXIT DOORS, not at the classroom door or in the hallways.  Your children know you, but the other children do not.

Whenever parents permit their children to go home with a friend after school, whether by car or walking, the Office must have a note from each parent involved explaining the situation along with your permission.  This way we make sure your children are safe after school.  Write a note, then each student will bring their notes to the Office to be initialed.

Parking Lot Procedures

In order to afford maximum safety conditions for all students, it is important that we have the cooperation or the parents who drive their children to school.

1.  Drop off students along the EAST drive of the building and LEAVE, do not park along the curb to watch your students.  The additional cars cause congestion and create a safety hazard for the children.

2.  PARK ONLY in the parking lot if you have business in the Office, are seeing a teacher, or escorting students to or from the building.  Please walk with your student across the parking lot.

3. Parking or dropping off students behind the building is not allowed.

4. The circular drive in front of Fillmore is for BUSSES ONLY.

5.  For dismissal, the busses will line up in the circular drive in front of Fillmore.  No car will be allowed in this circular driveway.  If you are picking up your child, PARK in the lot, MEET your child on school grounds and WALK WITH YOUR CHILD to the parked car.
