LATCHKEY SERVICES

• An opportunity to engage in an organized extracurricular activity outside of the classroom while enhancing the family/school relationship.

BEFORE-SCHOOL LATCHKEY PROGRAM

Before-school Latchkey is designed for families who need childcare before school starts each morning and is available at all elementary locations. Latchkey opens at 6:45am and runs until the start of school. Students must be registered in grades K-5 to attend before-school Latchkey at their home school.

The cost for attending before-school Latchkey is $5.00 per day for each child who attends. Discounts for families with multiple children are not available. Parents are responsible for providing transportation to their registered before-school Latchkey site.

AFTER-SCHOOL LATCHKEY PROGRAM

After-school Latchkey is designed for families who need childcare from the time school ends until 6:00pm. Students must be registered at one of WCS fifteen elementary schools in grades K-5 to attend after-school Latchkey.

The cost of after-school Latchkey is $7.00 per day for each child who attends. Discounts for families with multiple children are not available. Parents are responsible for picking up their children from their assigned after-school Latchkey site by 6:00pm. Late fees will be added to monthly billing statements for late pick-up.

HALF DAY OF SCHOOL PROCEDURES
Parents are required to "sign up" for half day latchkey two weeks prior to the actual date. Your child must be registered. A $5.00 charge will be applied for dropping off a child who is not signed up for the half-day. A $5.00 charge will be applied if a child signed-up but does not attend. Parent must notify the Latchkey Site Supervisor a minimum of 24-hours prior to the half-day to remove child’s name from the list. Students must bring a bag lunch and drink. No food service is available on half-days.

YEAR-ROUND SCHOOLS - HOLDEN, FILLMORE, AND SIERSMA

Students who attend Holden, Fillmore, and Siersma Elementary during the 2013/2014 school year will remain at their schools for after-school Latchkey.

LATE START MONDAY

Anyone using latchkey services for Late Start Monday's must be registered and will be charged the $5.00 flat rate. The past practice of not charging for the additional 45 minutes is no longer in effect.

PAYING YOUR LATCHKEY BILL

Latchkey bills may be paid from any invoice that has been e-mailed to you this school year. There is a schedule of invoice release dates and payment dates in the parent handbook. If you do not receive an invoice by the appropriate date, please call 586-698-4428.
