Computer Aided Design I (CAD 1)
This class provides students with the opportunity to learn the fundamental skills needed for careers in engineering. This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the basic and advanced functions of the AutoCAD (computer-aided drafting) software. Students will use AutoCAD in the creation of drawings in place of traditional drafting methods, producing accurate and complete two-dimensional working drawings in both imperial and metric measurements. Instruction will be given in a hands-on environment through a combination of lecture, demonstration, practice and assignments. Students will also be given an introduction to three-dimensional design using CATIA V5 engineering software.

Computer Aided Design II (CAD 2)
CAD 2 is a Pre-Engineering program that provides students with the skills needed for the engineering and design careers of the 21st century. CAD 2 provides students with the opportunity to advance their skills in a project based setting. This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the basic and advanced functions of the CATIA V5 CAD software. Students will transfer drawings between various CAD systems, using various designs, engineering, and manufacturing processes to complete projects. Areas of study will include: advanced mechanical design, CATIA V5 CAD software, part design, part rendering, assembly design, rapid proto-typing, materials and processes, product development, pattern development, product packaging, and alternative energy.
