Building Trades I

This is the first class of a 2-year program. Working on an in-house mock up display, students will be taught some basic and advanced techniques in more than eight different trades. This includes, but is not limited to: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, drywall, flooring, painting, windows and doors, siding, ceramic tile and more. Trade related math is embedded in this course. Students gain the skills necessary to be successful in Building Trades II during their senior year.

Academic Credits (earned upon successful completion):

  • 2 Elective credits
  • Applied Math I - 1 credit
  • Visual, Performing, Applied Arts - 1 credit


Building Trades II

This program builds an 1,800 square foot ranch home and covers the ground breaking to the finished product. Skills covered range from carpentry, electrical, plumbing, tile, concrete, painting, blueprint reading and many more. Hands on learning in this class will be used for entry-level jobs in the construction industry or necessary lifetime skills.
