A message from the Superintendent
Dear Parents & Guardians,
For those of you able to attend the Legislative Panel Discussion with our state legislators this past Monday, I appreciate your support and interest very much. However, if you left the event scratching your head saying "now what?," you are not alone. Ironically, I felt the event was a tremendous success because it demonstrated to you as parents just how divided the legislature is on critically important issues that affect our children. In fact, the type of gridlock and debate that you witnessed is at the heart of our funding problem and our kids are being held hostage.
Unfortunately, this is the reality that the Board of Education and I deal with on a regular basis. Please know that we must figure out a plan for next year that protects our children despite the lack of stable and adequate school funding. Simply, we have our work cut out for us.
A dvd of the Legislative Panel Discussion is available for check-out by contacting your building's Principal or view a rebroadcast of the event on YouTube or on WCSD-TV at 10:00am and 7:00pm daily. I will be in touch very soon as we begin to address the challenges we face next year.
Thanks again for your support
